The MrSignage Ubuntu player is a standard deb installation

The steps are as follow:

1. Download the player
2. Install the player
3. Connect the player

Installation

Step 1

Download the player from the following url: Download

Step 2

When its downloaded open the MrSignagePlayer.deb by double clicking and install the software.

Step 3

When the player is started the following screen will appear:

Now login into your cms and navigate to Display > Add Display.

1. select Windows / Linux as OS.
2. Choose if you want to enable auto update. when there is a new version available for the player it will auto update itself.
3. Enter the display key that is shown on the player.
4. Enter the name you want to give the display.
5. Enter a description for the player, this is not necessary.
6. Select the default layout the player will play when nothing is scheduled.

After saving the player will start to download the content of the default layout.

Player Information

To see the player information press the "i" key on the keyboard that is connected to the player. This allows you to see the following information:

• Player version
• Connected cms
• Currently running layouts
• Downloaded media files
• IP
• Log of the player

There are also 2 buttons:

1. Disconnect display: This will disconnect the player from the cms and will show a new key

2. Clear content: This will clear and redownload all the layout contents.

   Player removal

   All media files are placed inside the mrsignage folder, this folder can be found in: /home/username/MrSignage. To completely remove the player configuration and media files you also need to delete this folder.
