Layouts
A layout is a complete screen design that contains the content and a background. which can be scheduled using the scheduler on multiple displays or display groups. Each layout has different regions that contains a playlist of media.
Each layout is designed for pre defined screen resolution, to add support for a new resolution you can navigate to Layouts -> Resolutions -> Add
At this page you can manage your layouts for your displays.
The Layoutbuilder
The Layoutbuilder is where you can create layouts for your Display. The Layoutbuilder exists out of 4 key components:
- Canvas (Green).
- Layers overview (Red).
- Layer (Orange).
- Plugins (Blue).
Canvas
The canvas is your pre defined working area where you can place layers with content. The canvas will be the same ratio as the screen that will play the content.
Layers Overview
All layers in the layout will be shown here. From here you can add a new layer, select a layer and add plugins to the selected layer.
Ordering layers
All layers will be placed above each other, the first layer inside the overview list will be shown above, and the last one will be shown below all the other layers.
To move a layer above another simply drag and drop a layer in the layer overview.
Layers
A layer is a defined area inside the canvas that can hold a set of playable content (Plugins). The layers can be moved and resized inside the canvas. Each layer has its own name, background color (can be transparent) and a border radius. This can be changed inside the Layer overview -> "Actions" button
To add a new layer press the "New layer" button in the upper right corner.
Plugins
each layer contains one or multiple plugins, when a layout starts with playing it will start with playing the first plugin inside the layer and when its finished in continues to the next one. To assign new content to a layer press on a layer inside the layer overview and click on "Add plugin". From here you can add playable content to your layer, for example an image or a video. Each plugin has its own play duration so the player can loop through each plugin inside a layer.
Creating Your First Layout
Lets start by adding a new Layout. Click on the 'Add Layout' button in the upper right corner and fill in your Layout name and resolution.
Delete the default layers by selecting ACTION > DELETE LAYER
.
Next we will add a new layer and add the image plugin to the layer:
- Add a new layer and resize it.
- Add the image plugin to the Layer.
Click update to save your Layout.
You have created your first Layout, congratulation. :tada:
